 Read In The Library 

We collect various books, periodicals, newspapers, and references…etc. You can read all of those to your heart’s content. We also have a reading area for readers to study their course.

 Collection Circulation

Students, school faculty and staff can borrow collection with the student / faculty ID card.  Alumni, retirees, and part-time professor need to apply for the circulation card at the circulation desk. 

Applying circulation card for alumni will need diploma, identification card, one clear photograph, and NT$100 fee.  Each circulation card for alumni can be used for three years.

Applying circulation card for retiree will need retiring card, identification card, one clear photograph, and NT$100 fee.  Each circulation card for retiree can be used for three years.

Applying circulation card for part-time professor will need the contract of engagement, identification card, one clear photograph, and NT$100 fee.  Each circulation card for part-time professor can be used till the date on the contract.

Please apply for cards by yourselves and do not let anyone use you own circulation card, or both your rights will be suspended. Choose one of your statuses to apply.

If the book you borrowed were overdue, you will not allow borrowing books and will be fined for each day it’s overdue. Each volume will be fined 5 dollars per day. Fine limits to an accumulative total 2000 dollars. If books are damaged, please ask our rules to indemnify.

 Consultation Service

Librarian at the Reference Desk will answer reader’s question on phone or e-mail, and help reader to search on OPAC and online database.

 Online Database Searching

Provide more than 100 kinds of databases and CD-Rom for information searching.  With these databases, readers can get related information on the journals, reports, and standards just by keying in keyword, author’s name, and title.  Computer systems are also provided at the first floor.  Please apply for using the computer at Reference Desk, and buy copying card to print or copy. 

 Appointed Reference

Display the appointed references on first floor every semester.  Only overdue references can be loaned.

 Books Seeking Service

Readers can apply for the book seeking service when they can’t get the collection by themselves. 

 Interlibrary Loan

Through interlibrary loan, readers can apply to borrow or obtain copies of materials not included in our library collections. The Library participates in agreements of cooperation with many libraries in Taiwan and abroad.  Please apply for the username at the Conference Desk before making interlibrary loan.  It’s a paid service, so readers need to pay the copying and mailing fee on it.

 Gift Books
To make a better use of the library collections, some copy volumes of them are given free to the students.

 Audio-visual Service

Faculty of NTUT can borrow the videos, tapes, and CDs by identify cards. We also have some group rooms where can hold collective activities.

 Donate Books

Donating either books or funds to increase our collections is welcome.  We’ll award the donator a medal or a certification.  Please look up the details in “The Rewards of Donators.”

 Activities

We will hold many activities like reading propaganda, freshmen’s library guidance, and special speeches every year.

 Photocopy

Every floor in the library has photocopiers supply for readers. Readers can buy the copy card at the circulation counter on first floor.  Please operate the machine by yourself and obey the Laws of Copyright.
